Aztec Phase II

Participate in highly-researched, well-funded and well-managed exploratory drilling projects in areas with high historical reserves.

Aztec recognizes that market conditions have been, and continue to be appropriate for a second tier of opportunity in exploratory drilling. Such drilling represents a higher risk than development/infield drilling, but returns can be commensurate with current oil prices in excess of $60/bbl and natural gas prices above $6/MMBtu range. See price history.

Aztec’s Advantage

Aztec has strict criteria for selecting prospects:

  • Wells are projected to be located in geological trends that have demonstrated substantial historical production and very high potential for future discoveries.

  • Teaming with knowledgeable, fully professionally-staffed E&P firms, which also have extensive deal flow and highly sophisticated analytical capabilities, affords Aztec the opportunity for multiple industry participations. As a result, Aztec can engage in a larger number of highly-researched, deeper, more costly exploration projects at smaller percentage levels than would be possible to originate inexpensively on its own.

The company has been aggressively pursuing and acquiring minority interests in select drilling prospects and has already announced participation in a number of successful projects. See Aztec Properties.
