Aztec Phase III

Aztec is now implementing the third stage of its development. This stage further balances Aztec’s approach to profitable energy asset development through low-risk, highly focused, predominantly “development” drilling projects in which Aztec welcomes individual investor participation.

Aztec recognizes that there are numerous oil and natural gas producing regions of the United States which still offer low-risk developmental drilling opportunities where a systematic approach can result in a very positive profit-to-risk profile. These areas are normally not attractive to larger E&P companies because of such companies’ higher overhead and development costs, and their need for extremely large reserve increases from their drilling programs.

Aztec’s Phase III projects will focus on drilling in basins, such as in the Appalachian regions of the U.S., which are low-risk, long-term energy producers near the high energy usage “Northeastern corridor” of the U.S. We will participate in such regions with a select number of local, highly experienced operators who have access to leases located in geological trends that have demonstrated substantial historical production, plus potential remaining reserves which can be exploited in a low-risk, systematic fashion.

Such local operators have been, and will in the future be selected by Aztec on the basis of their demonstrated track records for exploiting known oil and natural gas reserves in a timely and cost-effective manner. What Aztec provides to such local operators is expertise and the financial opportunity to timely exploit assets those operators may otherwise not be able to fully exploit, or which could be lost to their competitors due to delays in initiating development. This Phase III strategy works well for Aztec and all participants, including individual "outside" investors.
